Overview: This role will be pivotal for building new relationships with clinicians in the community and supporting participants – new and continuing – to grow Horses Help. The Program Manager is responsible for developing the program schedule and plan for mental health programs, curriculum development, class facilitation and master program schedule.

The Program Manager is the first contact that participants have with HH, handling intakes and placements. They act as a liaison between participants, their parents or caregivers, to welcome and onboard new families. Ensures an outstanding experience for participants and their families while at HH.

This position is empowered to develop & facilitate curriculum to train the Equine Specialists to deliver safe and effective lessons in accordance with PATH International (PATH) standards and processes.

 

Position Responsibilities:

Programs, Administration, Continuing Education and Community Connection

  • Work with the HH Leadership team to develop process to ensure that participant intakes and placements are evaluated according to both HH and PATH standards.

  • Build the master program schedule and coordinate schedules with Equine Specialist and Therapist schedules

  • Works with HH Leadership team for appropriate placement of clients

  • Ensure clinician’s documentation (Lesson Plans, Session ending reports) are developed for each student and that progress reports are completed is in accordance with Horses Help Accreditation policies and procedures

  • Creates working relationships with Case Managers at behavioral health clinics, residential facilities, group homes and community agencies to expand programming and client base.

  • Establish standards to recruit, train and evaluate facilitator and teams to expand the HH team and our ability to expand our programs.

  • Coordinates, prepares, and delivers demonstrations, workshops, and training clinics that enhance the Continuing education of our staff or partners.

  • Coordinate training offerings with Therapists and Equine Specialists to ensure that training needs or continuing education goals are met.

 

Education Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Recreation Management, or a related field is preferred.

ESMHL Certification from PATH Intl. is required within 2 years.

 

Experience and Knowledge Preferred: Minimum of three years of instructing experience in various aspects of horsemanship, to include a minimum of two years’ experience working with people with disabilities, preferably in PATH Intl. Accredited Center. Demonstrated success in working with children/adults with a range of developmental and/or mental health disabilities. Experience de-escalating behaviorally challenging or crisis situations. Program and curriculum development is required.

 

Job Type: Part-time
